hi, I am Alina. I am a designer, illustrator & childbook author.

Hi, I am Alina.I’m what people usually call an illustrator. And a designer. And now, an author. When I was little, I was lucky. I grew up in a time that felt adventurous, offline and a little wild. Thanks to voices like Attenborough and Cousteau, we sat glued to our television screens — not because they were loud, but because they showed us wonder. For the first time, we could see the miracles of nature up close. And it was mind-blowing.Now I have a child of my own. And the world has changed. Nature is available on demand. Childhood feels faster, fuller, louder. Through my books, I try to pass on something of the world I once experienced — stories that leave space for curiosity, for quiet moments, and for discovering the world not as something to consume, but as something to experience and protect.
Alina Winopal develops books that leave room for curiosity, slowness and independent discovery — as a conscious counterpoint to fast, highly structured media worlds.
In her work, she draws on the childhood experiences she grew up with and translates them into images and stories for children today — because this kind of childhood is no longer a given.
Nature plays a central role in her work, rooted in the belief that closeness to the world is a prerequisite for understanding — and for protection later on.
